LABELS is a capstone project featuring a 2D animated scene that forms part of a broader short story. The development of this work was guided by a central research question: What is the potential to explore a formalist approach to colour, composition, and lighting to convey the impact of the male gaze on women within a character-driven 2D animation that takes place in the 1950s-1960s Hollywood?

To address my research question, I developed storyboards, planned scene layouts, and explored colour palettes and lighting design. I also experimented with shot compositions to investigate how visual arrangement can strengthen narrative impact.
